✨ 4.5 Stars!

It only took me over a year to finally dive into this popular series, and it was not what I expected—in a real good way.

Typically I would stay clear of books with this trope, because I can't fathom how anyone could fall in love with their dead siblings partner. However, this story was done so well that from the very beginning I was rooting for the MCs relationship. Not once did I have that feeling of discomfort at the thought; if anything I felt they were meant to be even before the sisters death. So to say I'm surprised at my genuine enjoyment of the storyline would be an understatement.

I can definitely see how so many readers of small town romances enjoy this book and the authors storytelling. I loved the friendships that were more like family, the loyalty that they have for one another, and the chemistry between the main characters. All of it was enthralling to read and I'm so happy I spent a credit on the audiobook bundle of book 1-3!

My only complaint would be, that for a longish book, I would have liked for more than just the small glimpse we got in the epilogue, of Ford and Bell finally being able to be happy and together. They had a rough road getting their HEA, and after 47 chapters, I would have liked some of that being of them enjoying it.

I really liked this small town romance! I liked that Bell and Ford had this past history that they had to overcome. It was a really great representation of grief and how to eventually move on. I liked the mystery, it drove the plot forward for me. And the rest of the cast of characters were wonderful and I could tell there would be more interesting stories to come from them in the future!

This was a good book but I personally don’t love the sibling’s ex/partner trope

Really enjoyed Bell, her outlook on life was great. Ford was a little bit less defined in the beginning but I really liked getting to know him. Their history and their growth was so fun to follow and the plot twist, once again, got me good.
