I went ahead and finished this book even though it became obvious that it wasn't that great...and after going months partway through it. Very easy read. A good get-away read during holiday craziness because it requires zero brain-power. But not that compelling or complex. It takes place during Christmastime in a unique place on the east coast. Not much happens and very little character development or attachment. Meh.

While the characters were basically cardboard I liked that this book was not what I expected. Instead of a romance it was more about accepting the relationships in your family even though they are different from you. And I liked the cat.

I didn't care for any of the characters at first (especially the mother) but they do grow on you and it ended up being a fairly good story

Great heart-warming novel. Quick read. I wish there was a bit more to it, it left me wanting more!

A cute story about a middle aged couple whose youngest daughter is getting married in their home on Nantucket on Christmas day. There are a couple main threads: the parents are learning to let go and relax (and in the process the mother learns to let go of her perfectionism with the help of their new cat); and the daughter and son in law to be are working through some pre-wedding jitters. Some of the hijinks are reminiscent of A Christmas Vacation.

What a great story! It's a little crazy and a lot fun! This was my first time reading this author, but it absolutely will not be my last time! :)
