I know this book was published in 1868, but my God! It's a never-ending bore, a super dull read. It aged very badly and therefore, for me, it doesn't fit in the "classic" category.
A manual of good education, permeated with high doses of Christian guilt. I still don't understand how this book became a classic? Oh yeah, American classic. That'sthe only explanation.
I didn't know it was a children's book and I think that fact makes it all that much worse...
I really hope the movie is better. Please don't let me down, Greta Gerwig.

i couldn't care less about meg (sorry meg) and laurie (omg he pmo so much sometimes) ngl and jo and beth were the only reasons i made myself finish this.
alcott is so peak and even though this wasn't always super for me i can recognise this is the actual embodiment of sisterhood, girlhood, and domestic bliss (in the end at least rip beth i will always stan u). SO CHARMING.
