Faz o filme parecer legalzinho
Nota 1/5= patético
Leitura= 02/2020

im actually soooooooo normal about twilight
ok so confession - i have never read twilight before. or seen the movies.
until 2024.
FUCK THAT WAS GOOD???
now i will say. yes the book is cringe at points. like when edward literally eats bella's tears.
and also meyer is um. Odd! like calling jacob "indian"....... Erm!
but i did in fact gobble this book up so. i think im at fault here.
i don't know why i was so addicted to this book but i swear to god its laced with crack.
ummmm i actually cant put how i feel into words.
the ending ate, the story ate, the characters ate (shout out alice u remind me i like women), the pacing, everything (minus the cutesy-cringe moments & the microaggressions....)
i hate you alastair because im an addict. i need my next twilight fix.

With this type of subject matter, the story could have been completely campy, but instead was surprisingly beautiful at times. I thought that Twilight exhibited a surprising depth of emotion, intimacy and even sensuality without ever resorting to anything explicit. I think the intimacy was owing in large part to the amazing level of communication between Bella and Edward. These two teen protagonists affected more stark honesty in their communication than many adult characters in romance novels, rarely holding anything back from each other. Edward was even forthcoming about who and what he was far sooner than I ever expected him to be. The sensuality was conveyed through simple things like smiles, kisses and touches and most importantly their beautiful dialog. The first two-thirds of the book moves at a rather languid but steady pace owing to the extensive character and relationship development. After that, it almost instantly turns into a taut suspense/thriller when Bella's life is threatened. Even though the book is written entirely in first-person from Bella's perspective, I thought the author did a good job of conveying Edward's thoughts and feelings too, through extensive use of dialog. As an aside, I really liked the small-town atmosphere of Forks.

Decided to reread this, I read it in middle school and used to be a fan but decided to revisit. Whether you like or hate it, its such a landmark in pop culture; I never take it seriously, it’s a fun read if you just like shallow paranormal romances.

I feel like there isn't even a need to write a review, because who doesn't know Twilight by now.
Like many, I have a complicated relationship with the Twilight saga. It is so bad but so good.
It is a terrible book, but it's unintentionally so unhinged and funny.
It also really puts me in the mood for fall! Especially when having the movie soundtrack play in the background while reading.
When I read it for the first time when the books first came out I read Twilight in Dutch.
This was my first read through in English and I have to say I was surprised to find out that Stephenie Meyer isn't a bad writer! The writing style is easy and enjoyable to read in my opinion. However, I will forever be convinced Stephanie was meant to be a thriller/horror author who for some reason stumbled into the romance genre.

All and all, I had fun rereading Twilight and will be rereading the rest of the series.
When the book first came out I read a bit of midnight sun. I was told it justifies a lot of Edwards actions when you read the story from his perspective. It did not. It made it worse. I love this dumpster fire of a book series.

Read at your own risk. You will never be the same.

Ps: Alice is and always will be the BEST character

I only reread this to go through and highlight all the signs of abuse. Almost every page had a highlight on it. No idea why this is still considered a romance novel.

As a big fan of the films, I loved this book. Yes, it was cringy, but that's part of what made it fun. I love a good unrealistic romance to make me laugh sometimes

So I finished Twilight?
I was so ready to be done with it I listened to the last half of the audiobook at 2,55x speed.

Giving Twilight a 1star rating somehow feels so incredibly misogynistic..? I promise I'm not just shitting on something teenage girls love. It is not a good book and I won't fully get into why exactly here, because I just can't be bothered. I already wasted too much time reading this book...

If you like Twilight, maybe do not read this review. I don't want to make you mad, but I really did not have a good time reading it.

It's quite similar to the movie but so much less entertaining. It's just really irritating.
I know I'm not the target audience but I honestly do not think I would have liked it if I read it when I was younger.

I still hate Edward and Bella is boring. We got some more backstory for Alice which was interesting. Besides that though nothing much is new.

The kind of obsession portrayed in this book is ridiculous and honestly not warranted. I don't understand WHY Edward and Bella like each other, except for the fact that they are both 💫different💫...? Bella is so obsessed with Edward pretty much from the first time she sees him and I do not understand it!

I was quite surprised that reading this book actually felt like reading any other mediocre fantasy book. It is truly nothing special. I thought it would at least make me angry, if not make me laugh. It did neither. I got annoyed and bored and sometimes disgusted. That's it.

If you haven't read this book yet, don't. The movie shows you everything you need to know. I promise you're not missing out on anything.
I honestly feel like this was a waste of my time, but at least now I can brag (?) about having read Twilight?
Definitely won't be continuing the series though or reading anything else by Stephenie Meyer. I assume it's only going to get worse.

I feel like Twilight deserves 1.5 stars simply for being such a cult classic that I felt like I missed out on a great experience by not having read it. I thought I could hate-love this like I do the Twilight movies,... but I don't.

This book is a must read. It is written in first-person POV and I very highly recommend reading this. I felt what the character did and for someone who likes romance, forbidden love, tension, it is a must read.
