I went in not expecting much from this book but it actually wasn’t  that bad. Yeah, it was very predictable and not really well-written but when you expect a traditional war story than you won’t be disappointed. I really liked the characters and it was sad even though it wasn’t that well-written because of the storyline. It was really interesting to read about the events in London and Billy’s such a nice person wow. Hope Millie is gonna film a movie to the book.

This books had a great storyline/plot, but I found the writing to be simple and plain. Not bad, but nothing amazing about it either. A satisfying ending, but like I said, the writing didn't really evoke any emotion.

Having seen quite a few negative reviews I admittedly went into this with quite low expectations but I really enjoyed it! It's quite shocking and emotional, with a few twists that I didn't expect. If this wasn't based on a true story I'd note that some events seemed a little unlikely, but obviously that's not the case and it contributed to the story's beauty.

This WW2 coming of the age novel mixed with grief, romance, acceptance and so much more will hit with readers of every age.

Millie Bobby Brown's debut novel strikes at the heart strings in this lovely historical fiction.

I was crying, gasping and surprised by this book. I did think that the writing could have been better in some areas, but overall was a beautiful novel.
