Im not sure how to feel about this book. Part of me thinks i feel a little disappointed because the first 3 were really good and this one was just good, but another part of me just thinks I feel this way because it felt as if the plot was developing as the author was writing rather than having a clear vision. Whenever a new character gets introduced in a standing series and becomes one of the main POV's I tend to lose interest because the aspects of the series and characters that got me invested in the books initially are no longer there hence its like adjusting to a new series and this felt that way. Kind of like when a TV series you really like kills off a main character then tries to introduce a replacement. I understand why the 2 new characters became main POVs because they drive a big portion of this plot, but I just didnt sign up for them ya know? I wanted the original characters. Anyway, this rant is to say this books was just fine.

Check trigger warnings! A good conclusion to a retelling of Hades and Persephone that spans 4 books. A lot darker and longer than the previous books with many more characters POVs that shows the build up to the war and through it. Theusus' chapters were almost unbearable to read, his treatment to other characters made me despise him. I really enjoyed Dionysus' characterisation and his relationship with Ariadne. Some really hard deaths came from this book but I felt it was nesasary to develop Persophone from an innocent almost mortal to the powerful queen of the underworld. Hecates love and protection over Persephone was so great and Hermes humour really lifted this book in dark moments. Overall the characters really carried this world but the plot sometimes fell short with battles commencing fast and issues being resolved very fast

Well guys… I did it. I finished the series. And I’m crying 😭 I cannot begin to tell you how much I love this series and how much it means to me. Hades will forever and always be my first book boyfriend 😂

But in all seriousness, this story was great. Honestly a perfect final installment of Hades and Persephone’s story. I loved all of the split POVs (except Thesus’. I would’ve rather thrown up than read those). The characters were great, the plot twists were great. I really did not know what was going to happen in the story and I am still kind of shocked by how it went.

I really can’t wait to see what Scarlett will do with Aphrodite and Hephaestus. I just hope she lets Hades in those books a little 😉

Scarlett brought this series full circle perfectly. I so badly never wanted this series to end since it has become a comfort series for me but she gave this series the ending it deserves. Hades and Persephone and all the characters will always have a special place in my heart. This series has helped me so much with my own healing and brought my love for reading back. I don't want to say too much because I don't want to give anything away but it was the perfect ending

The finale to this series hits all the spots. Prepare to question what's happening and feel an omnipresent doom through 95% of the book. It hits hard and definitely take the trigger warnings seriously. The dark themes are written strongly and it definitely had my head and heart spinning. SO many POVs and it left a lot of plot holes to the New Athens world.

This would've honestly been a another amazing 4-4.5 star read to the HadesxPersephone saga had it not been for the "bonus chapter" that changed my entire outlook on the series. I have so many irritated feelings about Persephone's premonition coming true and this whole flip to "fate-interveened-pregnancy". Hades and Persephone were this one character duo that were learning to love and communicate about these hard subjects. I felt like this was a kick in the teeth on that foundation. So so so disappointed.
