Perhaps I had gotten my hopes a little too high for this one. The setup for this final book in the Hades and Persephone series was massive and world-ending, but the pacing of this book ultimately felt off. Act one was tremendously drawn out, and while I didn't mind that while reading the first several hundred pages, I do find myself questioning it now after completing the book and having experienced the rushed third act.
We spend how long with Hades trapped in the labyrinth and not doing anything? Days? Meanwhile the final battle feels like it took less than fifteen minutes.

I enjoyed this series overall and will still absolutely recommend it to fantasy-romance enthusiasts. I just think it was a slight letdown compared to the previous books in the series.

The story in this book was captivating however the smut was a bit distracting and unnecessary in this one. I mean, a little is fine but there was too much. This book had some really dark moments and the great battle seemed to wrap up way too easily. That said, it was an entertaining read and a great final book to the series.

DNF at 41% - I am honestly very disappointed. I think I have definitely grown as a reader in the two years since I read the other books but the writing style felt so simple. It made it that everything felt descriptive and not as if you were experiencing it with the characters. I thought the Persephone storyline was honestly boring and I was only really interested in Dionysus and Ariadne’s story and her sister Phaedra. The biggest reason I didn’t finish it was Theseus’s POV, why in the WORLD did we need to read from the perspective of Theseus?? This disgusting piece of a man has close to non-consensual sex with Helen and gets harder thinking about torturing Ariadne and abuses his wife?? How disgusting but why did we need to read that from his perspective?? I was honestly not interested at all to find out how he will get beaten and where Cronos comes into play. I felt like all the sex scenes up until this point were weird and inappropriately timed with them being hallucinations and dreams. I think Persephone made silly plans that somehow worked out and Hades was being unreasonably harsh and rude in the chapter after his escape

I only finished this book because I had read the rest of the series, but this book was... fine. While I used to really enjoy the excessive spice, at this point I was just waiting for it to be over. There was a point in the book in which there was such a dramatic cut that I actually rewound my audiobook twice to make sure I didn't miss what happened, and it turned out that the event just wasn't included. Dionysus was by far the most interesting character, but the horrific torture of Ariadne was too much. Not a fan of this finale.

There is way to much rape in this book. It is suppose to be a fantasy romance, but at this point in is not.

All the rape scene were completely unnecessary. We already the guy is evil, we don't need to see him rape a girl 4 or 5 time to establish that. Also, by seeing it from is point of view it make it worst. There is no trauma, no added depths from those scenes. Without them the story still hold, so I really don't understand why those scene were added.
