I hate that this is where the series went. The first three books were so good and this one shifted to so much trauma and violence. in the audiobook a male narrator was added in addition to the female narrator from the earlier books and I did not like his voice or the shift to add another person.

I am so sad that this series is over, but it is probably one of the best series I've read. The effort that the author put into these always amazes me when I read the author notes at the end to learn about the myths incorporated.

I loved the character development for Hades and Persephone throughout the series and the development of their relationship as well. I felt like Persephone had a decent amount of growth in the last two or three books especially. I also loved her relationship development with all the side characters as well. This book definitely screams "found family trope" louder than the others in this series, however, I think it's a present theme throughout.

I would have liked to learn more about Medusa, but I am thinking/hopeful the author is saving that for another series. I cannot wait to read about Aphrodite and Hephaestus.

Overall wasn’t a huge fan of the series, think this book was one of the better ones, definitely the best one with Persephone’s point of view.
The POVs of Hades were the better books in my opinion and same with the chapters in here.
Also there is a lot of smut, which I don’t normally mind. But in this case and for much of the series it’s like every other chapter and its pages of it. Felt like it took you out of the story and didn’t add anything to the characters growth or the storyline. Felt more like “oh don’t know what to put here so let’s let them go have sex.”
Putting those aside this version of Persephone and Hades story is pretty good, it’s interesting and you get to really enjoy the other gods and really enjoyed their personalities; would’ve liked more of them. Thinking the ending could’ve been a lot stronger but of course had to have a smut scene instead of showing the aftermath and where the character end up…

The story in this book was captivating however the smut was a bit distracting and unnecessary in this one. I mean, a little is fine but there was too much. This book had some really dark moments and the great battle seemed to wrap up way too easily. That said, it was an entertaining read and a great final book to the series.

DNF at 41% - I am honestly very disappointed. I think I have definitely grown as a reader in the two years since I read the other books but the writing style felt so simple. It made it that everything felt descriptive and not as if you were experiencing it with the characters. I thought the Persephone storyline was honestly boring and I was only really interested in Dionysus and Ariadne’s story and her sister Phaedra. The biggest reason I didn’t finish it was Theseus’s POV, why in the WORLD did we need to read from the perspective of Theseus?? This disgusting piece of a man has close to non-consensual sex with Helen and gets harder thinking about torturing Ariadne and abuses his wife?? How disgusting but why did we need to read that from his perspective?? I was honestly not interested at all to find out how he will get beaten and where Cronos comes into play. I felt like all the sex scenes up until this point were weird and inappropriately timed with them being hallucinations and dreams. I think Persephone made silly plans that somehow worked out and Hades was being unreasonably harsh and rude in the chapter after his escape

There is way to much rape in this book. It is suppose to be a fantasy romance, but at this point in is not.

All the rape scene were completely unnecessary. We already the guy is evil, we don't need to see him rape a girl 4 or 5 time to establish that. Also, by seeing it from is point of view it make it worst. There is no trauma, no added depths from those scenes. Without them the story still hold, so I really don't understand why those scene were added.
