In the final book of Scarlett St. Clair's Hades X Persephone saga, the world is in chaos as the gods are at war and the Titans have been unleashed. Persephone and Hades must fight with everything they've got to find their happy ending. Persephone's life was forever changed by meeting Hades, and now she faces an even bigger battle to save humanity and end the conflict among the gods. Embracing her role as goddess, wife, and queen of the Underworld, she's ready to go to war for the people she loves.

Rating: 3.5/5

For the final book in this saga, I give it 3.5 out of 5. As a conclusion, it was well-planned and wrapped up many mysteries and smaller dramas, but I felt the plot lacked the intricate detail that I had come to appreciate in previous books. There was a lot of action without as much focus on the characters’ thoughts and motivations, perhaps because there were so many different pieces moving around the board. With all the names, backgrounds, and alliances—complicated by Greek mythology—you almost needed a glossary to keep track.

Many situations were glossed over that would’ve been more detailed in earlier books. This book could’ve been more thorough, even if it meant splitting it into two parts. I would’ve liked more closure for some of our beloved side characters, but I can’t say much more without spoilers. Despite this, Scarlett St. Clair wrote an excellent book with nice pacing and minimal filler, she kept the emotional roller coaster going. I just wanted more details.

As for the audiobook, if I’m honest, Hades’ voice became annoying by the end. While I grew to love Persephone, however, the narrator’s portrayal of Hades, which I previously enjoyed, drove me crazy and felt insufferable by the conclusion.

In wrapping up the series, this book did achieve a satisfying conclusion. Did it shoot for the moon and land among the stars? No, but it left room for future books, and I hope we continue to explore what happens in New Athens. Despite this final book not meeting all my hopes and dreams, I loved this series and will absolutely devour everything else I can find written by Miss St. Clair.

I felt like I read two separate books. The first half and the second half didn’t feel like they came from the same book. Overall I thought the story concluded well. I was a little disturbed by the darker scenes that weren’t present in the other novels.

I have so many thoughts for this book, i thought the beginning was sus with Hades getting out of the labyrinth too easily and i knew there had to be so much more to the book. AND SO MUCH MORE THERE WAS! The middle was kinda boring to me considering it was just a lot of building to the climax of the book but the last couple hundred pages i wasn’t ready! First of all Thesus made my stomach turn in so many not good ways as i was reading and I found his death to be anticlimactic yet very well deserved. Seeing Hades become more empathetic throughout the series and Persephone command the presence that she is worthy of makes it so good!  I didn’t enjoy how there was like 20 pages left and one plot point left to be unresolved still, and many other things still that have yet to be figured out which makes me anxious for possibly another book. DISCLAIMER: The graphicness of this novel is not to be overlooked however, there were many times where my stomach turned because of how upsetting some of the content was. Besides that this is one of the best books in the series so far.
