I very much dislike Nate and I respect Sophie less as the story goes on because she wants him so much. They honestly did not speak enough for me to believe she was so hung up on him and she could do so much better than this manchild. I’ve ready the whole “I can’t be with you for your own good” ML storyline because and I don’t like it most of them time but this one was especially frustrating.

Spoiler Plus, Sophie just comes off as a bit selfish for refusing a good man who she doesn’t love because she’s hung up on some stupid asshole. Her family is relying on her to make a good match because she ruined her, and by association their, reputation. The least she could do is fix it. I mean, not to judge her too hard because I can see how it would suck to marrying someone you don’t love, but I truly don’t get why she loves Nate.

Plus, Charlie hiding her matchmaking from Sophie doesn’t make sense. I get her not letting her brother know but Sophie felt guilty for liking him beggars she thought Charlie disapproved.

Fun, funny, and sexy it’s what you want in a romance novel.

I loved this! The setup was a bit long, but for the first in the series that makes sense. Our heroine is funny, confident and unafraid to go after what she wants. Our MMC was brooding, and an absolute rake at the beginning. I loved this whole book and can't wait to read the whole series.

this was cute. Sex scenes were ehhh no spice. But if I could have a cute 19th century romance tryst I would like it to go down like this
