Watched the Netflix mini-series in London, thought I’d give the book a go! And behold: it was wonderful! Both are expertly done and completely capitalize on their respective mediums. Well versed and slyly paced, the voices and aesthetics of Kate and the Whitehouses are so clear, so refined and compelling! Love an intrigue

ALSO I reveled in the six (6!) different shakespeare references to four different plays! Very subtle, very effective, big fan

Decent book, but I feel as if there were too many character storylines for them to each get fleshed out enough. I could have done with a more in depth viewpoint on fewer. Also, it made me a bit angry but mostly because it was so true to what actually happens in real life.

Several twists, the big one halfway through and its a perfect blinder. I expected more of a crime thriller but it's actually a legal case study and character study from multiple POV of the women surrounding an alleged rape.

While the story of the trial is straightforward with lots of realistic detail, the suspense builds from the time jumps, learning about the character's connections and not knowing what they are going to do about the situation around the trial.

A solid three stars. It was very boring and predictable, and I had figured out that Holly was Kate by the end of Holly’s first chapter. The author does not understand asexuality, as the word was misused multiple times. Also, the phrase, “not married, but not gay” was used a couple of times. Solid writing, but very predictable.

This review was originally posted on Star Crossed Reviews I received this book for free From the Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Thank you to Simon and Schuster for my proof copy of this book. I got sent a copy of this book back in around March/April 2017. I had heard so many good reviews that I knew I had to bump it up my TBR pile. I planned to read it over the Christmas break but there were so many festive stories that it took a backseat. As soon as the new year began I made it my mission to read it.

It's very hard to talk about this story without any spoilers so I apologise now if my review makes very little sense. The main thing you should take away is that this is a book you NEED to read.

Not only is this story addictive and gripping it is also extremely relevant right now. When you look to the media we see stories just like this one. Which of those are true and which of those are not can only be known by those involved.

The book is told in the third person. I liked that the chapters were headed with the date and the name of the character the chapter was about.  I really enjoyed the differing views and time jumps  in this book.

Kate and Sophie are two very different women but who have a lot of similarities. Kate at first glance seems strong, hard nosed and ice queen. Sophie on the other hand seems like a loving mother who wants the best for her family. As we delve into the story there are more and more layers to these women and the things they have experienced.

This book is full of twists and turns that you won't guess until the author wants you to.

This book was my first 5* of the year and I know right now it will be in my top books of the year post. I have already been telling all my friends that this is a must read!

This book is to triggering for me. It’s mostly my fault because I go into books blind a lot.

So if you can handling cheating, rape, shit men, victim blaming, and women don’t knowing there worth and rolling over like a dog; then this book could be for you.
For me it makes me want to vomit and cry so it’s a no for me
