Better than the first that was for sure, in the second installment, you really take something away from this book, that actually makes you think, and put what Christy has learned and direct it into your own life. Very good book.

*side note:

Her family (apart from uncle bob) I just want to yell at. gah!

[Series best read in order]
Short and sweet Christian spin on still relevant teen social issues. Body image, drug use, self worth, dating, inner voice conflicts, etc. I remember reading three Christy Miller books in one day my first time through the series.

3rd time through the series, first time as an adult of a tween. Still so relevant and ways to apply to my life as well as my daughter. Glad we are reading through this series together this time.

The cliches continue as Christy finds herself in trouble with the law due to a friend's eating disorder and struggle with dieting pills and theft. The shallow and oh-so-familiar youth group atmosphere "Peter Pagan and Katie Christian" skit-like interludes gave me horrid flashbacks to my own youth group experience. I'm glad I'm not in that environment anymore and that I can read this book with a measure of distance from that mess.

*Review in Progress*

I liked this one even more than the first book! It had me laughing at Christy's toilet papering experience and it's results. It had me seething with Christy is frame for something she didn't do. Yet it always leaves me hopeful for her future. Great book for young adult readers.

I have found one of the greatest examples for 'missionary dating' that anyone can give in this book. I'll have to share it with you youth leaders.

As Christy says goodbye to her old home and friend, she is set to make new ones at her new school. The popular girls take her in, but does she really fit in? With appearances of Tracy, Dough and friends from the first book, plus the famous Uncle Bob and Aunt Marti, we have a fun new read!

Even in being an adult there are still a lot of things we can learn from this series! I guess this year is the year of reading all of your old favorites!
