However he is too rude and blunt for her tastes, so she sets her sights on someone else who has a love for something that is her greatest fear: Horses. So Devin, is her instructor on overcoming her fear, but in the midst of it, at fierce attraction grows between Amanda and Devin, and before they realize it, they are both falling hard for each other...but will their love be enough???
Let Love Find You is the fourth in the Reid Family series and even though I have enjoyed all of Lindsey's books, except lately....I don't know what it is....I feel at times it isn't even her. I have read her previous books plenty of times...but this one just didn't reach out to me really at all. I had a hard time really getting into the book. The story line was great, I really loved the layout of the plot and I liked the characters but it just didn't ring out to me as a fantastic romance as I know Johanna Lindsey can produce. It may just be me since I haven't been reading a lot lately, however even though this book had some admirable qualities it was also lacking something vital: Depth....it seemed like everything was on the surface, and there wasn't any substance that grabs hold of the readers attention. I am sorry to give it such a low rating....but it just didn't fit into my standards for a good and solid romance....:(

The Good Stuff
Got sick of historical romances a little while ago, so I was at first hesitant at picking this one up. However, I am glad I did, this one was quite sweet
Not at all shmaltzy or mushy
Amanda actually behaves like someone of her time and station would (with a little extra fire of course)
Devin sounds totally delicious and I might have had a few little fantasies about him -- hey I've been married for 19 years, a girl has to have a little fun you know
Quite a bit of humour for a historical romance, which was a nice surprise
I actually really liked the character of Amanda, she would be someone I would have liked to hang out with during this time period
Good chemistry between Devin and Amanda -- lots of steamy looks and fiery dialogue
Also really enjoyed the relationship between Amanda and her father."
Perfect beach read
Must read the book about Rafe and Ophelia -- it sounds like it was a hell of a story
The Not So Good Stuff
Things tied up a little too quickly - felt a little rushed at the end
Storyline drags a little bit at the beginning
Love scenes were very brief and not a lot of them
Favorite Quotes/Passages
"Devin shrugged. "Can't deny it's amusing, but it's not something I set out to do. It just fell in my lap. But there's no luck about it, it's simple animal magnetism that makes for a great match. A man and a women have got to want to rut, but after the rutting, they've got to have something in common or their happily ever after falls apart."
"Devin laughed. "You're his baby sister. He's not going to discuss desire with you."
"He swore to himself that night that he'd never cry again ... or love anyone again. It hurt too much."
Who Should/Shouldn't Read
Fans of Lindsey's previous works will obviously enjoy
Perfect for anyone wanting to escape with some romance while at the beach
Also it you like historical romance, this is obviously perfect for you
4 Dewey's
I received this from Simon and Schuster in exchange for an honest review

This was so hard to get into, and I never really got a sense of chemistry from the main characters. The plot was all devicey, and.. Cupid? REALLY?
There are so many things that I fell in love with in this book--Devin, most of all. As always, Johanna Lindsey made me into a bundle of emotions. But I felt that it presented too much about so many things and, despite the length of the book, it felt hurried. It was a beautiful story but I think the execution could have gone better.
I like Johanna Lindsey books. They are quick reads and you always know everything is going to work out between the guy and the girl. Unfortunately, this one did not have the explicit sex scenes that her books normally have. These are historical romances set in the British 1700s. Amanda has spent three Seasons looking for the right man to marry and faces becoming an old maid at 20. Devin Baldwin is a brutish man who is known as Cupid for his matchmaking skills but is also the man that can help Amanda find the right husband and get over her fear of horses. You can imagine how things worked out.
I am having a hard time staying interested in this book. It definitely is not her best work
The fourth book in Lindsey’s Reid Family series, and quite the lovely read. I thought the start was quite slow and a bit clunky in execution. It took a good third of the book to really get stuck into the heart of the story.
Once it did, I really enjoyed the moments between Devin and Amanda, it was like a slightly watered down version of Man of My Dreams in some ways, except Devin actually was a horse breeder, rather than a duke.
I liked how this one unfolded with their romance, from adversarial to becoming friends, I just got a little frustrated with the “obstacle” as such. The side storyline with the heir seemed somewhat pointless, as I don’t think it provided much momentum to the main storyline aside from the meeting towards the end. Which could have been engineered in another manner.
I liked the characters and enjoyed the story, it wasn’t one that really hooked into my emotions, but it was a great way to pass a few hours and there was very little to dislike about this one.

Maybe because I'm a big fan of the author but I expected something more from this book. The novel starts to be interesting since the party in Amanda house (but I have already read 70% of the book to that moment!!!)
So it is a good book, with love and mistery (the identity of Devin's father and step brother) but I keep feeling disappointed about it because it is not a great book like others of Johanna Lindsey :(

I have read some older books by Johanna Lindsey and wasn't impressed. That's why Let Love Find You got stuck at my TBR shelf for a long time and it was really surprising to me that it was actually quite good.
The main characters were okay. The heroines in books from 80's were so naive and silly that I hated them, Amanda is different. She is probably not the most interesting heroine in romance ever but she didn't annoy me. In the beginning, I wasn't sure if I liked Devin; he was a bit too alpha male for my taste but later on I got used to. And I really liked the secondary characters.
The plot was also not bad. However, I would prefer the relationship between Amanda and Devin to be more developed.
Plus, the cover is adorable. Considering it all, I would give it three and a half star and a second chance to some later books by Johanna Lindsey.

Stilted dialog, information dumps, and a whole lot of telling instead of showing. 100 pages in and I haven’t found a redeeming or authentic seeming character, just cardboard cutouts mouthing awkward lines. DNF.
