This book is really interesting however it can be quite repetitive in parts and the author introduces the same people again and again which made it more confusing for me!

I’m glad I read it but I think I would have preferred to watch the documentary!

Super interesting! Worked in the nhs and with criminals for many years after that on prisons and policing so this was fascinating in many aspects! Made me lol when I read about the idiots act! Yes it was an actual act of law! Mental people were described under this bit of law as idiots

This was a completely random purchase off the back of an Amazon kindle book sale alert that I'd received. Overall it was an interesting read though I think the title is a bit of a misnomer as it is more about the facility itself rather than the patients / criminals who called it home. Where specific criminals are referred to, it's in short snippets and is more of a secondary feature. At times the book felt very repetitive, e.g. there was repeat reference made to the Broadmoor documentary that had been filmed - at times I thought I was being given not so subliminal messaging to watch it. Plus, I didn't think that the book hung together well, each chapter felt like it was completely separate.
