Rounded up from 3.5. I enjoyed this novel's ambiance and moodiness. I also liked that the magic in the people, the land, was mostly dark. It was a different take than a lot of other 'witchy' books or stories. In this one, you got characters who were anxious to not be part of the legacy of their home, who didn't want to inherit the land and the traditions. I was surprised by some of the revelations and how far some folks would go to "right" a long-ago "wrong."
