This was a well-written and compelling non-fiction read. I knew almost nothing about the outbreak, but searched for this book after watching the recent Netflix documentary.

Honestly, this is not a feel-good story, but the writing style and unique content made it worth it. The second half of the book was a little too technical for me, but it was still interesting. I recommend this book if you're a fan of non-fiction.

the author had absurdly misogynistic and homophobic depictions of some of the people introduced in this book. it is wild to me that anyone would feel the need to describe the alleged attractiveness of mothers whose children were dying of E. coli. or that this description of attractiveness ended the moment a mother was described as being 250 pounds. the topic matter was interesting, but I don’t have respect for the author
