Easy read, the art style and colours chosen for this monochromatic comic is absolutely beautiful. Its very short sadly but still would recommend it.

- LAURA DEAN KEEPS BREAKING UP WITH ME really gets into heavy teenage feelings: that feeling that this might be your only chance at love, even though you're so young.
- I loved the art style of this book as well. It's much more detailed than many YA graphic novels are, and I felt it really got some of the emotional nuances across well.
Graphic: Infidelity, Abortion, Alcohol, Toxic relationship, Vomit, Cursing, Medical content, and Pregnancy
Minor: Homophobia and Sexual content

Narratives of unhealthy and even outright emotionally abusive romantic relationships are very important to me, and this book does a lovely job of displaying the confusion, heartbreak, and anger of such relationships. It also doesn't fall into an easy narrative of the victim being blameless for their own shitty behavior caused by the relationship; Freddy is held accountable for how her actions negatively effect her relationships with her friends. I think this book should be mandatory reading for young adults and beyond as an example of how to navigate a relationship that you desperately want, but isn't serving you.
Graphic: Toxic relationship
Moderate: Emotional abuse
Minor: Sexual content, Vomit, and Abortion

First, this was full wonderfully bright and vibrant Steven Universe-esque art that I ate up. It was also incredibly funny and full of wonderful queer community, which I think is very important for young queers to see.
The angst and the emotional stringing-along was VERY relatable, and the story had a nice Juno-ish balance of drama and comedy.
I absolutely devoured this one and cannot recommend it enough.
