Galen and Piper have appeared in the previous two books, and it's a delight to get to know them both better here. You'd think I'd get tired of the introvert/extrovert dynamic, and you'd be wrong. They keep saving each other (and their companion) and it's delightful.
The plot revolves around a dungeon crawl, with light politics and fighting the othering of gnoles before and after.

This was the best of the series in my opinion. The story got to the tense, life threatening adventure much quicker than the previous books. The story had a nice pace that kept me interested.
