The main character felt real toxic masculine man's man rather than suave multidimensional spy like say Gabriel Allon.

Harvath goes hardcore this time around. He's motivated for revenge and he has the skills to make it happen. There's no question that you'll feel for the protagonist by the end of this book. You'll also be entirely sure you don't want him believing you've wronged him in any serious way. I don't want to give anything away. I'm just going to say one thing... damn!!!

Eh. Kind of dumb but engaging enough.
adventurous

Having read all the books in the series, this one started off with a great scenario and spent a good amount of time on how Harvath is going to be extracted and rescued. Toward the end it is all tied together and shows Harvath’s commitment to get the job done. Nicely written and a fast paced read plenty of intrigue, the title fits the plot for sure.

Great book!!

Scott Harvath witnessed his girlfriend (wife) and two other friends executed before he is kidnapped and sent to Russia. What ensues is Scott’s escape and revenge.
High paced action of the CIA genre.

Honestly his best yet. Kept me guessing and glued to the pages til the very end. And he tied every string up perfectly
