The tension of her secret gives the book its faster pace and
fated mate trope is good
definitely an enemies to lovers too.

This book has so much angst and I wanted all of it and more. I was hooked from early on in the story and I have so much I want to know. I cannot believe how quickly I was able to gobble up over 300 pages.

I need the next book now, and luckily I am late to the game so I can read them back to back. I love how self assured Lilah is in spite of and because of all the things she faced. I am so ready to see her relationships grow with the boys, especially Jett and Orion.

I cannot give this a rating because:

I have never read characters so easy to hate. The Wyvern pack is clearly self absorbed enough to blatantly ignore their omega, they’re all filled with such self-loathing (which is honestly deserved) that they make everyone and everything around them more complicated and painful. These alphas are the annoying kind of villain to read. The only like-able characters were Lilah and Orion everyone else could be excluded from the next book and I honestly wouldn’t be mad. Another note: although I appreciated Lilah as a character she used phrases that really took me out of the book/world (i.e. factoid and stabbity (an alternative to stab) and
she was her own hero for the entire book. Like literally the only person who could be qualified as “there for her” is Orion and he is quite literally abandoned by his own pack to their own stupidity
Overall I’m not sure if Lola Rock’s plan was to write character so unlikable or if she really was just setting up for the second book where there better be the worlds best groveling.
