I liked it, and wish I'd read it as a child. I think I might have too much grown-up in me today to appreciate it as much as I would like to. It feels too far away right now. Perhaps I need to get old enough to read fairy tales again, as C. S. Lewis says.

I get why people adore this book bc it’s definitely whimsical and imaginative. I didn’t have the childhood nostalgia toward it tho so it didn’t hit as it would most people. Also? No one said it was SAD

Not what I expected in the slightest, but was pleased nonetheless. Thought-provoking going into the New Year.

Whilst I don't agree with everything in the book, and I think it can come across as quite pretentious sometimes, I think there are a lot of good messages inside. The book is well-written and both enjoyable and a learning opportunity for a wide audience. It is easily understood but it still makes you think. 4/5
