I read it in one sitting and it was amazing. I fell in love with the characters and I laughed so much while reading!

I bought this book to read to my daughter at bedtime. I was after something a little more interesting that the usual fairy tales. I'm still looking. The book has an interesting premise but it's poorly written and underdeveloped. The characters are two dimensional and stereotypical. I have no idea who the target audience for this book would be, it's written in language a 5 or 6 year old would use but then has some rather dark passages and adult themes thrown in. I bought this as an e-book so I was affected by the horrendous fonts used in the hardcopy.

LOVED it! I'm a big fan of Jodi and even as Jodi tells everyone on her book tours don't expect this to be like her ADULT fiction books, this is an YA book. She wrote this page by page with Sammy and it's definitely NOT like her adult books but still a good starting block for teens to work towards reading her books in the future.

Oh man, this book was every reader's dream come true. How many times have you wished you could meet your favourite characters in real life? What if that wish comes true?
I absolutely loved Between the Lines. I love Jodi Picoult's works, but she usually writes much more mature fiction and I wasn't sure if I'd enjoy her YA work, but I SO did. I guess I shouldn't have doubted her skills. She's a queen with words and this book proved that to me once more.

This was a hard one to rate. I actually like it, but I don't love it.
The concept that this book was so good - but wasn't executed correctly.
I noticed a bunch of inconsistencies that could be easily looked, then again, it is also what caused the disconnected with me from the most part.
Full review to follow.

Fun little novel geared for young teens. What if the characters in a story were conscious? And, what if one of them didn't want to act out the same story again?

I was reading this book for my YA class and found I just wasn't hooked enough to keep going. I ended up skimming the last 2/3 of it to get an idea of the story. I generally enjoy YA books even though I have gotten past my own teenage years, but I found this one, while well-written, was a bit juvenile for my likings. Sure, the protagonist talked about making out with boys and her own very realistic experiences as a teen, but I just found that the amount of "drama" surrounding her life was too much for me to be able to handle.
