twisting plot, incredibly deep & layered worldbuilding and fascinating characters. the very conflicts and details of the world intertwine with the events of the plot and it's just. wow. yeah. the way the author combined everything is just. amazing.

Unlike any book I’ve ever read.

I confess, dear reader, that I almost put this book down almost immediately after I started. It didn’t grab me right away and startled me. Rather it slowly wrapped me, always letting me feel like I could walk away until I was so utterly enraptured by it that it became an addiction. What a book! The way the author controls your mental state while reading is uncanny. It makes the absurd seem normal and the normal absurd while all at once leaving you in a constant state of contented bewilderment. Do not read this book if you want to remain the same person you were when you started it.

I am not sure how I feel about this book, it was good, but not great.
I think I was "Dear Reader" (ed) to death.

I liked the first half, or maybe even more, but I really hated the last 6 chapters of the book. I wish I hadn’t read the book at all. It made me feel disgusted and sad.

Extremely thoughtful and creative world building, but the actual plot progresses at a snails pace
