I can's decide how I feel about this book. The author has a great writing style and I will give her next project a chance for sure. It might have been that the depiction of Malaya's relationships with women in her family, it was SO real that it made me uncomfortable, as a big girl who heard women in her family talk in the same ways. Oof! It also felt like the pacing was just off. It felt like you were always on the VERGE of something big happening, but it never got there.
