DNF, couldn't get into it. Got to return it to the library and I have other things to read. Might try again later.

Very pleasantly surprised. Frankly when reading the cover flap previously I'd thought this series of books sounded silly and moronic. But this book was great. Basically Pratchett is the Douglas Adams of the fantasy genre. Very smart and very funny. A great read. And the other bonus. Adams's oeuvre is so small. Pratchett has numerous books in this series. Makes me smile.

I've read seven Discworld novels so far and this is my favourite (for now) because of its consistent plot. In the other ones (except for maybe Eric) there were a lot of side plots and jokes that felt like they were added in as an afterthought or filler. Not here. This is a brilliant satire on bureaucracy, economics, and innovation vs tradition. I guess reading the original and not a translation also helped, since a lot gets lost in translation (even in the good ones).

The book did not engage me. The plot thus far and the characters did not interest me enough to continue. This book regularly put me to sleep in the state of wth did I just read.

Super fun (of course), incredibly witty (obviously), and wonderfully sweet all the way through (really, duh). If you liked this you should give Klaus a watch

once again, if not for book club I would not have picked this up. I must say though that I did enjoy it. After BC discussion, I liked it even more and wish that I had paid just a little more attention to my reading and not missed so many little nuances. (is that a word). Excellent observation of the human condition by Pratchett and subtilely described. I do like satire.
