3.5 stars Love Elin Hilderbrand books. This one did not disappoint. Not one of her best but I enjoyed it.
I did not expect to be so enamored with this book. I was immediately captivated. For a long book, I read this one pretty fast.
I absolutely loved that this was a story about female friendship and the love between two friends with romance as a background story. There aren't a lot of books like that out there and it was so nice to read and to see that character growth. Freddy also gave me major "Wolf of Wall Street" vibes, so in my head I obviously pictured him as Leonardo DiCaprio.
I really didn't want this one to end. I'm surprised at how much I loved this book - it's definitely a top 5 Elin for me.

I enjoyed this one a lot more than I anticipated. The main character's husband gets arrested for running a Ponzi scheme and she is also under suspicion. She hides away with her grieving estranged best friend on Nantucket and has to come to a lot of realizations about her marriage and has her own identity crisis after being with this man she thought she knew for 30 years. Like most of Elin Hilderbrand's books I felt this was a fast, easy and enjoyable read.

I usually love all the Elin Hildebrand books that I read. This one was my least favorite so far. It was okay but nothing special. Meredith really made me mad with how clueless she was and how much she did not care to look into her life and see what was going on. Also, the relationship between Meredith and Connie was confusing to grasp at first. It was not that great. The setting and descriptions were great as always.
I ended up enjoying this book more than I thought I would at the beginning - it is a good beach read. And I'm glad I ended up liking Meredith because it would not have been as an enjoyable read. We all knew she was going to end up with Toby from the get-go, right?! Plot deals with ponzi scheme aftermath but in a very made-for-tv kind of way - but still left you thinking about it and how people's greed can ruin millions of people's lives.
I really enjoyed this book and really enjoyed Hilderbrand's writing. I am looking forward to reading more from her.
