Not enough plot here and character development is too slow.  Just meh.

It's got all the hallmarks of a Hilderbrand novel, a slowly revealed backstory, in depth description of food normal people don't make or eat everyday, and Nantucket adventures.

The revelation of who the vandal was was pretty underwhelming. And there's a part where one of the leads teaches the other how to cook and the first thing she teaches her is of course a fancy sauce with shallots and quiche. Not something simple, cheap, and delicious, quiche.
