A novel that easily could be a true situation today. It was hard to put down as you wondered what Meredith and Connie would find next on the island of Nantucket between a restored friendship, a divorce, and new love.

Solid 4 stars for me. Great setting and relatable characters. Doesn't bother me that the plot was predictable. These are comfort books to me. Like Hallmark, but at the beach and not quite so perfect!

I’ve waited too long to write this review, so the details are blurry. This book took me forever to finish because I put it down in May to read some series books for my Readathon. Overall I enjoyed the story. It wasn’t quite the cheesy Nantucket romance novel I was expecting. The characters really grew on me & I felt deeply for Meredith. I think I read this at the perfect time. It just goes to show how shitty people will treat others before they even know the full story. You can’t always rely on what the media tells you. This is a great beach read!

Enjoyed this one! Loved the ending!

Her description of Nantucket and the wealth is a bit annoying book after book, but she's a good writer . Good summer reads that I can never put down.

Meredith Delinn is currently the most hated woman in America. Her husband, Freddy, is currently serving 150 years in jail for a Ponzie scheme that cheated people out of millions of dollars. As a result Meredith lost her money but more importantly she lost all the people that claimed to be her friends. With no one to turn to she calls her estranged best friend Connie Flute. Connie against her better judgment shelters Meredith in her summer home in Nantucket. Connie is still coping with the death of her husband, Wolff, two and a half years before, is not ready to open up herself to the world. Thus begins an exploration of love, loss, and friendship. Over the course of the summer the women rediscover their friendship and discover that life goes on after setbacks. Elin Hilderbrand crafts an engaging tale that while ripped from today's headlines, is at its heart a relationship book. The book alternates from the point of views of both women as they deal with the fallout from the disappointment of their lives. Hilderbrand slowly reveals the back stories of each woman that makes it easy to care for them and the people they interact with. Ultimately their relationships make them stronger and the reader lives the book feeling good about life. A nice, easy read recommended to those who like reading about relationships.
