Interesting story based off the Madoff case (had to Google to learn more about this). Not her best writing, but kept me interested enough.

This was just ok. I waffled between being irrationally irritated by rich middle aged women acting like hormonal teenagers and wanting to know what was going to happen. Everything was wrapped up a little too neat and tidy for me.

I just finished listening to this book today and am sad to have gone through it so quickly. I felt so badly for the main character, Meredith. Her husband was a complete snake by running a huge money scam that caused so many to lose millions of dollars. Freddy also made it look like Meredith was involved and she loses not only her good name, but also contact with her children. Meredith ends up fleeing to Nantucket for some peace and privacy, this doesn't exactly work in her favor. The book kept me engaged, the reader(s?) did a good job, and I am now off to look for another book by Elin Hilderbrand. Definitely recommend, especially as a summer vacation read.

If this is a book about friendship, then I liked it.
If this is about Nantucket, then I didn't. Nantucket doesn't really play a part in this. The setting could be any locale where the rich play.
If this is about marriage, then I didn't like it. Most of the marriages* are suboptimal.**
If this is about second chances, then ok, everyone uses their second chances well.
If this is about romance, then Dan is a dream come true.

*Meredith, Dan, Samantha, Toby (who had at least 2), Toby's parents
**Ok, Wolf and Connie maybe were a healthier couple. Wolf had a devastating choice to make. Although Connie framed Wolf's decision as choosing work over her, I'm not sure that's accurate. And we never get the inside scoop on Meredith's parents--her perspective is that of a child. In fact, Meredith's relationship with Dad mirrors Dan's boys' relationship with Nicole.

I like Elin Hilderbrand books in general. This one had a little more story to it than usual and I liked the story. Good summer read!
