This was very fast paced and I really raced through it with the cliffhanger endings to each chapter. I was really enjoying this up until about the 80% mark when I just felt it got a bit silly. The problem is that thriller authors seem to think they need to throw in as many twists and red herrings as possible to keep us off the scent but in order to do this they create motives that are just simply too weak to be believable. I would rather have a thriller that is done well, with a credible storyline, even if I guess the ending, rather than all the shocking twists just for the sake of trying to create those jaw dropping moments, that ultimately leave you feeling very unsatisfied.

I can’t believe I let this sit on my TBR shelf for so long! I wish I had it read it sooner because I thoroughly enjoyed this thriller.
Julia has recently moved back to Dublin to escape San Diego with her family, and soon finds one of her old friends has died in a tragic accident. Shortly after, her daughter discovers someone is taking videos inside their house, and her son claims someone from the attic is watching him. Julia races to find out if it’s to do with new events or something that happened 20 years ago with her friend group. Was her friend’s death truly an accident, or is someone targeting Julia and her friends?
This book had so many twists and turns, I could not even begin to guess the ending. The subject matter of someone potentially living in your attic is so creepy and unsettling, and add to it secretive videos and you got yourself some sleepless nights! I really love books that surprise me and the ending isn’t too obvious, and this one fit the bill. Bonus points because it had short chapters, which made me feel like I was flying through it.

Thank you Netgally for the gifted copy!
I'm giving the book a 3.75/5.
It kept me engaged the entire time, and was unsure on who was living in the attic until the end.
Made me question if someone could easily get to my attic, the answer is no, thankfully haha.
Had a good laugh about the coffee machine.
I will definitely read more from this author!
