The first time I read the series, this was my least favorite book in the series ( I know I gave it 5 stars because half of this book is my favorite characters Brienne, Arya and Jaime!) I didn't care about any of the new characters, even if it is setting up the second half of the series with more information on Dorne, Iron Islands, and Old Town. Now that this entire book has been shown on the show I can see how it connects to the future of the series. All of this to say I enjoyed this book way more the second time around. :) Side note when does Winds of Winter come out?!?! I need to know what happened to my book bestie Brienne!

I guess it was good but it was just boring. All of my favorite characters were killed off. The best part of this book was Cersei losing her shit over everything and then getting betrayed at the very end. The best journey was Jamie’s - for some reason I like him now. And Brianne is still good. Samwell is good but boring. It’s whatever. It took me a long time to finish.

I know this is an unpopular opinion as most people see this as the weakest entry but this is my favourite. I think it is because this is the first book that took a big twist from the show and in a definite good way. I loved the different array of characters there were and different locations, especially all the stuff in Dorne. It makes me so mad that they didnt include most of that shit in the show. they were sitting on a literal goldmine of fiction. Also i cant remember specifically which characters were in each book out of the last 2 but if this is the one with jon com and tyrion and young griff they were some of my favourite chapters. WHY THE FUCK DID THEY NOT INCLUDE THIS STORYLINE IN THE SHOW????? Tyrions falls off a cliff after season 4 because of the mundane and stupid shit he does, when they coulda just done this. So frustrating. Anyways i loved this book and is my goat.
