An average, relatively predictable mystery. Fairly forgettable, but decently written.

I stayed up until half 1 in the morning racing to the end of this - such a gripping mystery read!

I couldn’t put this book down! I read the first 100 pages in one sitting and I have just finished the book now at 10 past midnight having read the remaining 300+ pages! I have a newborn and so sleep is very precious to me at the moment but I could not wait to find out what happened to Tallullah!
I read this book as it was my book clubs pick of the month and I wasn’t expecting to think too highly of it as the last novel I read by this author was a good read but pretty average as far as thrillers go but this was so gripping; it kept me guessing throughout and a really satisfying ending. Lots of twists that I didn’t expect. There are so many characters to keep track of but Jewell has managed to make it feel really easy to do so whereas in other books, keeping up with all the characters can be a chore.
The outcome of the mystery wasn’t crazy shocking (I didn’t guess it all!) but it was satisfying and it tidied all the loose ends up nicely which I much prefer.
Really manageable chapters and easy to keep up with all the jumping back and forth in time. Thoroughly enjoyed this book and the only reason I’m not rating it five stars is because I found it really slow paced at the beginning.

This book could have benefitted from another round of editing, but was overall quite a gripping mystery.
