This is a book I read a lot as a kid and I absolutely adore it. Even now, it's a book I'll read and reread as the years go by.

This follows our main protagonist Elmer Elevator as he goes on an adventure to rescue a baby dragon from captivity and enslavement.

The writing is fast-paced, fun and quick and it makes for an incredibly enjoyable read.

The world building is also lovely. I loved the island setting and all of the backstory we got from the Cat.

The plot is fun and quick and easily summarized by what I mentioned above.

And I loved all of the characters. Elmer's quick thinking and cleverness. The Cat's wisdom. And all of the animals on the island and their problems. I just loved it all.

All in all, still one of my favorites and I look forward to rereading it again in the future.
