It's an anthology of short stories that were written over a period of 100 years by 19 women authors who had a connection in Wales (not all were born there).
Many of them had a brooding tone. Some were more appealing than others. I especially found one interesting that concerned an illegitimate birth in mid-19th century Wales. I appreciated the glimpse into Welsh socio-cultural customs.
