Legacy of the drow #3
Drizzt #9
Adventure Fantasy
Drizzt books are a solid, simple adventure Fantasy. By this part of the series it gets a little more into deceptions and "politics" rather than just quest and fight. I found this particular book a little too much tell and council chatting rather than show, even during action parts.

All I'm saying is I would kill for a spin-off solely focused on Pwent and Bidderdoo and the Gutbuster Brigade

It took longer to get to the action than it really should have. Obviously there was a lot of setup that needed to happen before the drow marched on Mithril Hall, but the first three fifths of the book really dragged on.

That being said, when you get to the action it’s solid and breathtaking.

Thank the lord Matron Baenre is finally dead!

A fun read that just drags on a little too long.
Seeing the Battle of Mithral Hall was exciting as well as being back in the intrigue of the dark Undercity (which I always love). Seeing the Time of Troubles was also fascinating though the second half of the book has moments where the pacing drags and focuses on characters I don’t particularly care for.
