Why did I read this? It is easy to digest and easy to forget. You can put the book down for a couple days, come back to it and its not that hard to remember what had happened previously. I didn't get into the book and it was okay. Just a quick read to get my book count back up for this year.
Also the kindle version is riddled with some awful typos, has proof reading been forgotten in the digital age?

The male love interest in this book is thoroughly unlikable. He's possessive, presumptuous, coercive, has little respect for boundaries, is jealous for no apparent reason, and his only moral compass appears to be what's best for him at the time. We're supposed to see him as the good guy and ignore them fact that he acts unilaterally and controlling, and seems to have add many red flags for perish add an abuser as the heroines father.

Additionally the cultural characterizations are cringe worthy.

A good read, but a bit more serious than her other books that I've read. The first part is definitely slow, and also somewhat hard to read. As you can tell from the synopsis, the entire point of the book is that Adrianne wants revenge against her father because of what he did to her mother... so the first part of the book is about what he did to her mother, and although it isn't graphic, it's still hard to read (TW for rape, physical/emotional abuse, drug/alcohol abuse, etc.).

After part 1, the pace picks up a bit. The burglaries are fun, and I loved Phillip (and loved Phillip and Adrianne together), and the ending is quite satisfying. But while this was an engaging read, it's not one I see myself picking up again.

There was nothing original in this book but it was an entertaining read for the sleep deprived.
