I could only get through have of this book... I thought it was crooked and weird from the very beginning but when I got to the part about the alleged rape of a minor as retold by a dog who watches tv, I just couldn't take it anymore. I have no idea how this is a best seller and will never know as I have tossed it into the donation box.

Did I ugly cry? Yes. Did I absolutely love and devour this book, also yes! This book, as told entirely from Enzo’s perspective (the dog) was such a heartwarming, funny, thoughtful, and emotional story! As Denny is a race car driver( and yes it can get a little heavy into racing jargon at times) the racing is really used metaphorically and so does not seem to technical. This book has everything going for it!, it has great, loveable characters, a great plot that keeps the story moving and interesting and a great message! I’d absolutely recommend reading this one if you haven’t!

I absolutely loved this book. I was a little apprehensive about a book written from a dog's perspective, but Stein did a brilliant, captivating job, and really had me convinced that a dog was telling this story. Lovely, heartwarming and incredibly well-written.

I read this book years ago on a whim; my grandparents gave it to me, probably because of the dog on the cover, and I remember reading this as a middle schooler without knowing anything about what was in store. This book just absolutely, from that moment on, stuck with me, and it continues sticking with me now at the age of 25. I have reread this book over and over again (though it has been awhile, which means I’m due for another!), to the point where the front cover is definitely worn and a little tattered, and I still got emotional each and every time.
This is truly just a special book, and it came into my life at a time when I never even knew I needed it. It’s honestly up there as one of my favorite books that I’ve ever read.

I thought this book was really fantastic, what would your dog say if they could talk?
