Well written, though a bit lengthy. Important topic of suicide and the lives left behind, but honestly, it's a pretty depressing read.

This book was real raw and explored grief in different ways. The way the FMC struggled to live life after the demise of her husband was so hard to witness but it’s something that people do with on a daily.

Such a beautifully story!

This novel is quite heavy, so trigger warning for anyone dealing with grief or suicide. The author manages to capture the emotions so vividly one couldn't help but empathize with Eve, the narrator grappling with her husband's death. There's a lot of pain in the story as Eve unravels but the love is also palpable. I love the depiction of this close-knit Igbo family: they feel familiar without being cliche. I love how real the narrative felt. I love the flashbacks about Eve's relationship with her husband, they offered some perspective into the depth of her loss and provided some reprieve from the weight of Eve's grieving process. I wish we had more insight into how the loss affected the other people in the family, but the author offered some glimpses. Most of all, I wish the husband didn't have to die, I wish he was able to get help, I wish this was a romcom where we read Eve and Quinton's love story and they live happily ever after. I read this in one sitting and I'm now a puddle of tears. Stunning work from this debut author. I'm going to bed now.
