This book is brilliantly written. At many points, I gasped at the descriptions and laughed out loud a lot, too. This being said, it depicts a very deep and consuming grief. While I have never experienced anything like this, it seems that she has articulated it quite accurately and vividly. I felt overwhelmed reading it and wanted it to stop hurting her so much. But I guess that is the point. It is heavy and real. I did love the relationships in this book. Eve’s family was especially remarkable and also very real. I believed that they were real.
Anyone going through grief needs to be aware of what they are picking up before they begin this book. It is disturbing at many points.

I kept waiting for Eve to recover from her grief. I was waiting for something; a new love, happiness, a reason why, something. It was beautifully written but repetitive.

Someday Maybe is not an easy read. It is raw, honest, and often gut-wrenching. All 350 pages are an immersion into the world of someone completely destroyed by grief. It is immersive. Be prepared. This is a debut and could have been tightened here and there, but overall it is a stunning portrayal of those left behind by suicide -- framed between two families of differing cultures and socioeconomic status.

There were aspects of the book I didn’t like that much, but overall this was such an honest depiction of grief and the pain that comes with losing someone to suicide. With that being said, Luisa, Drew, and Henrietta were my favorite parts of the book bc how couldn’t they be?
