I was not a MMA fan, but I think I just became one!

This book was awesome. I honestly don't know what to say about it.
The writing was good, the story was good too, Evan and Hayley's romance was cute and Evan and Everly's relationship is to die for. I wish I had a father like Evan!

Evan was hot as hell, but also such a cutie towards his kid so...

The only thing I didn't think was very realistic was Everly's behavior. She's portrayed to be a 5 year old, but she speaks like my brother who's almost 9... So sometimes I had a hard time picturing her as a 5 year old, but that's not a big deal ;)

Hot cover! And the story holds what the cover promises: hot characters, hot story, hot action, hot setting

Really well written book, not just smoking hot, but also very sensitive handling of issues that could have made this book go so wrong so easily. I'm not into providing spoilers or giving much of a synopsis, but there were some topics I wasn't expecting from this book. It could have just been a shallow romantic story, yet it's so much more.

I will be watching for more from Ty Langston, she far surpassed my expectation with this book.

I don’t suppose anyone can tell what drew me to this book before I even read the blurb?

*ding ding ding*

The cover. :)

And we think men are bad. Give me a hot MMA cover and I am all over that book.

Haley has to find some contestants for her new MMA show, Next Great Hope. They search and they search and come up with some contestants, but she keeps looking a little more. That’s how she found Evan. Persistence is the key girls.

Evan had a promising career ahead of him that he stepped back from for a mysterious reason (I’m going with what the blurb said because I don’t want to spoil the book for anyone).

Easy to read, I read through this very quickly, and enjoyed it. I liked both Evan and Haley and most of the characters involved in the story.

The only thing I could have wished for was a resolution between Evan and his ex. I really would like to know what happened with that after his mom intervened besides Evan’s initial reaction. Maybe it’s going to be a series and we’ll find out about that later? The only other thing that bothered me was this sentence, “Dressed in a pair of black sweats and matching tank, she seemed underdressed as Evan wore only a pair of blue running shorts and sneakers.” I think it should be she seemed overdressed, seeing as Evan had on less clothes than she did? It has been nagging at my mind every since I read the book.

Other than that, it was a fun fast read.

Thank you for my copy of Knocked Out!

This novella was a quick read for me. While Evan's character was well developed, Hayley's was not. Both the fight and the sex scene felt forced and happened with no build up.

What's not to love about a story featuring a HOT MMA fighter who is a softy when it involves his adorable little girl?

This is not your typical love story. This novella (as mentioned by the author at the end) is more about the love story of the father and daughter as opposed to the hero and heroine. With that said, things do still heat up between Hayley and Evan.

This novella as a wonder book for those that have limited time to read. While this book was an enjoyable book to read on a lazy afternoon, it could have only been better if it was lengthened a bit.

Knocked Out is a short novel with sexy steamy scenes.

It shows the power of the parent-child bond. Evan gave up his dream for his little girl and never looked back. He never complained. He did it out of love.

Hayley is a beautiful, feisty and stubborn woman, who is also devoted to her friends and family.

The story was solid and original and the characters are nicely created. However, something didn’t go well.

Like I said the story WAS good. I can easily imagine it as a full-length novel. As a full-length novel, the characters would have been developed and we could see their journey. We would also be able to actually follow the story. I don’t understand why they didn’t give it a go for a full-length. It would have been really beautiful.

The story was too big to be written in just 80 pages. There were fast forwards that were never indicated or explained. When you want to jump some weeks or months, you show it somehow. That did not happen, unfortunately. It was hard for me to follow the timeline; thus making the reading quite frustrating.

In conclusion, the story was too good and too big to be written in just 80 pages. It deserves a full-length novel in order for it to show its beauty. Its very short length limited the story and the characters, while it undermined the story’s quality.

So, Knocked Out gets 3 Stars.

I was given this book by Netgalley for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this book even though it was a bit too short. The storyline is awesome and unique. But the one thing I think it needed was a bit more character development. You don't really get to read how the attraction between Evan and Hayley developed through the show. It's just all of a sudden there.

I did love that this story had some really great themes about the love and support of family. The only reason that Evan goes on the show is with the encouragement of his Mom, Edna, and his daughter, Everly. I really enjoyed that it was about following your dreams too.

Like I said, great storyline but it needed a bit more work.
