The first story, "The Husband Stitch", might be one of the greatest and most upsetting short stories I have ever read while “Especially Heinous” was one of the weirdest.
‘real women have bodies’ was my favorite story by far. haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since. and i’m so so jealous of the law and order story - i may need to write my own version using a different tv show just to get that idea out of my system and onto a page because it’s weird and very fun.
i realllly wanted to like this book because it is so beautifully written but it was not for me. i would love to read poetry by this author but i found the stories really hard to follow. 1 or 2 were good, but honestly i did not find myself looking forward to picking up this book.

I liked Machado’s writing so much, and I never knew what to expect next. Her creativity in word choice and story flow is astounding, but sometimes the story got so mysterious and convoluted that I lost track of
the point.
