The themes were well expanded upon, and it told a good story that resonates with unjust wars, nationalism, immigration, and forced cultural assimilation. the themes were really the only part i liked about the book. it wasn’t bad, it was just… kind of boring and predictable.
the art wasn’t my favourite, but there was strong character designs and use of colour to create atmosphere and forward the story.
this book i think would hit best with a younger audience, especially those who have experienced the struggles of being an immigrant in a land that doesn’t like you

Fantastic artwork! Especially the colors! Love the unique setting and I enjoyed that the authors drew from their backgrounds for it!
The characters are likable, and it tells an interesting tale about how some governments just want to use you and lie to you. Take advantage of their privilege and others desperation to sacrifice people all for the hope of a better life.
Makes me reflect a bit of what’s happening in Gaza with all those refugees with no real home, and how desperate they are to find one.
I was disappointed at the end when it was over. I wanted more. Could’ve easily become a series. Will look forward to these authors work in the future

I loved the look at the military industrial complex, and the way history is used as a weapon. Warning for a HP reference in the acknowledgments.
