This book was amazing. I want to say more. But there were so many times I was in complete shock - knowing this was a true story... and I don’t want to give spoilers.. bottom line: No human should endure what this family did. Read this heartwarming story immediately.

I loved this book as it swept me from one family members experience to another. As this Jewish Polish family struggles through their different patches of the Holocaust. My only let down is, that I wasn’t able to get intimately connected with any of them, and we jump between their stories. But a beautiful story based on a real families experiences.

This is based on the true story of the author's family. Again, I have learned even more about the horrific happenings during WWII. The determination to live and begin again leaves me with admiration for all and especially those who were the lucky ones.

I love this book! The story recounting the Jewish lives during WWII is tragic and heartfelt and very, very, memorable. The author does a masterful job of telling of her family's saga. I highly recommend this read.
This book is so emotionally heavy. I cried many times through out reading, sometimes in heartbreak and others in joy. This is a very powerful read that will stick with me for a long time. I would highly recommend this story.
