This is an almost unbelievable story. It was recommended to me by my mother, who said that she thinks is the best book she's read in her entire life. It's very large, but still good.
This book is a heartfelt account of a family that was scattered across the globe during WWII. Each family member had a fascinating story that provides an eye witness account into a unique chapter of WWII history. The author does a good job of interweaving the stories and showing the human toll of war and the grit it takes to survive.
