I wanted to read something short, sweet, and fluffy and that's exactly what I got here. Cora Carmack has been in my periphery for a long while now and, since Audible had a 70% off sale this was included in, I couldn't help myself.

Like I've already said, this was just a cute, fluffy little book and it was perfect as a palate cleanser after reading the ultimately disappointing urban fantasy within Wicked, Torn, and Brave by Jennifer L. Armentrout.

The story was really simple, the romance was sweet, and the characters were fun. The only part I didn't really like was the very unnecessary epilogue, which is told from Garrick's point of view and completely usurps the moment of triumph Bliss has when she finally, well, loses it. I definitely could have done without the epilogue, but other than that this was a cute little timewaster and it made my heart all fuzzy and stuff.

2.75?? Who knows. But apparently only this type of books get me out of a reading slump, and who am I to complain, if it does the job?

This book was very, very awkward, oh god, but it also had its sweet and funny moments. It could have been better, of course, but it's not like I was expecting much to begin with. Pretty common story, I did not especially liked any of the characters (maybe Cade, and he's like the side male), but if you're enjoying romance stories and are not bothered by steamy scenes, then you can always give a chance to this book.

I liked this book. I did, I really did. But I had a lot of problems with it, so many issues that bugged me, that stopped me from rating it higher than I did.

I didn't like Bliss, she was annoying, slightly pathetic and immature. And Bliss? Who even has a name like Bliss.. really? Why couldn't she be called Rachel or Monica or something (yes Friends reference), so yeah that was annoying, but again, had nothing to do with her character. I found myself rolling my eyes a lot of the time, I found that I was skipping lines and even paragraphs of her constant complaining and whining and worrying.

Even though it was predictable I really enjoyed it! It was fun to read something light in between all the literature.

These reviews I have been reading for this book kind of sicken me. I went into this thinking it would be an endearing tale. Instead, about twenty pages in I wanted to gouge my eyes out. I'll start with the obvious.

The name Bliss...I mean, seriously?! Just the name alone feels like the author is trying too hard in order emphasize she is a virgin. I would have liked a different name that doesn't feel too heavyhanded. On the same lines of names, it desperately irritated me when 90% of the dialogue tagged who the person was talking it. "Don't you think that's good, Carl?" As an example.

I may be being peevish, but there were simple grammatical errors in my ebook copy. Randomly capitalized words and incorrect dialogue tags. It led me to believe that there wasn't much editing going on.

I feel the author tried too hard to be lyrical in places where lyricism was not necessary. She would get the point across easier without having to overdo descriptions. And the mono? Seriously, it was a bit overdramatic.

I will definitely NOT be reading the following sequels or whatever. There are too many things wrong with this book. I am amazed it even got published.

Actually this is more a 3.5 star book. I enjoyed it and it was a pretty fast read. However, I'm not much into romance books and I just skimmed through some predictable passages. I only started it to give new adult books a try.

I recommend them to people who like reading romance books or something with simplistic plot with hardly any plot twists. Also, if you are just looking for a fast read book to add to your GoodReads reading challenge, *coughlikemecough* then this is one for you.

2.8 The story of a college student, virginal and completely self absorbed, filled with personal doubts, just isn't for me. It started out really cheesy just above high school drama to me. I was ready to drop the book till a friend encouraged me to continue. Oh, very well, I finished. It did develop a more mature and fun story but it's still not something I enjoyed getting my reading feelings involved in. No more NA for me if I can avoid it

I didn't love this book, but I didn't hate it either. I had trouble getting into it, to the extent that I questioned several times whether I even wanted to finish it. The writing was pedestrian, and the plot was okay, though I didn't think the relationship between Bliss and Garrick (gah, those names!) was as well fleshed-out as it should have been. More complete review to come.
