That Monster on the Block by Sue Ganz-Schmitt – This was adorable at Halloween, but it would be a sweet neighbors story any time! Happy Hallow Reading!

Monster’s neighbor Vampire moved away and someone new comes to the neighborhood. Monster vows to scare him away. Cute, playful drawings take all the scare away from the monsters. The book teaches the message that new people deserve a chance without being preachy.

Monster sees that someone new has moved into Vampire's old house. But who? When he finds out, he isn't happy about it, and encourages the others in the neighborhood to avoid the newcomer. Soon, however, his neighbors show him that different is okay.

A cute story for Halloween time or any time, that teaches kids that just because someone is different, doesn't mean they can't be a friend. Fun, colorful illustrations.

Fun

A genuine and heartwarming story about the value of accepting others that are different than you or that you have pre-conceived beliefs about. Really good illustrations as well.

Tolerance is key!

Different to what I expected but still important message and very cool. Well drawn and fun monsters with an amazing look at friendship.

The cutest!

Loved this story! The pictures are wonderfully done, too. Such a great story about not judging a book by its cover
