Okay.. so I’m between 3.75-4 ⭐️

I liked this book more than book two!! There were instances that made me rethink about rafe's character but the plot, banter, pain, love, and symbolism was there and  that made me really stew on how it related to/reflected rafe and penny. I just live for that and their banter is top notch 😌

I will say
there is a third act 'break-up' and rafe spends the rest of the 20% groveling for Penny. spoiler>

It was fine!! I expected more at the end ): HOWEVER, I understand the ending because it reflects PENNY AND RAFE'S relationship. I LOVE Penny- she's my baddie!! You just have to read to understand what i mean 😉 one of my favorite fmc's

ALSO THIS BOOK HAD SPICE 🥵 and it was not corny or cringe what so ever

I really like Rafe and Penny as characters and as a couple, but I feel very strongly that this duo could have easily been condensed into one book. I don't think we needed two books when these are really character-driven and not plot-driven anyway. I liked that we go to know Rory more for her personality outside of her book and I love a smitten mafia man.

The banter was great and the spice was spicy, but I think the attention to detail fell off a bit in this book, with some typos I didn't notice in the first two books.

I am excited to get to Gabe and Wren's story next (well, once they come out) because I feel like there's so much to get into with Gabe and Wren. Hoping that we also get a Tayce book or short story because I'm obsessed with her.

Penny and Rafe’s second book of their duet. They are enemies to lovers. She is a person who does what she has to to survive. He is a business mafia guy. She chooses him as her target and he becomes obsessed with her. She has been lucky and he becomes unluck now that she is in his life. He still can get enough of her.

They become infatuated with each other but don’t want to be the one to “break first”.  They have a constant competition on who will show more in the relationship. He messes up and breaks her trust. And then he has to grovel to get her back.

I am reviewing Sinners Condemned and Consumed together because I didn’t want to stop after the first to write down my thoughts, and now I’m not 100% certain on where one ended and the other began.
The build-up and tension between Rafe and Penny was unmatched; a real slow burn that I loved, I just wanted more and more. I loved that she was the one person who was able to see through his façade and get to know the real him, and I loved that he became such a safe haven for Penny after she’d been through so much.
What I really appreciated with this is that we got to see so much of the side characters, we got more of a sense of who they are and their personalities and got to see characters from previous books continue to develop. Specifically Rory and her relationships with her brothers-in-law was such a joy and we’ll hopefully just get more of it when we get Gabe’s story next.
I will say it felt like the plot did seem to drop off as Rafe and Penny got together and the story became less about all the external drama that was going on in the beginning, some conflicts were solved off page making some of those plot points a little anticlimactic. That being said I still really enjoyed this duet and I cant wait for Gabe’s (and Nico’s) story.
