It was ok - not as good as Devile Wears Prada, but a nice, easy read. As all chick lit books are!

It is a good novel. The ending is just so happy that I actually cried of how cute it is. It is different from the Devil Wears Prada and Revenge Wears Prada.

I made the mistake of making this one of the five books I took with me for my four month trip to Japan in 2008, where a paperback book in English cost $20. After finally being forced to read this or reread something I had just read, I finally read this. While it was slightly entertaining, it was mostly snotty, tedious, and seemingly written by a twelve year old girl who wants to one day be like Paris Hilton. It's stuck on my brain to this day because it's such a marked difference from the enjoyable Devil Wears Prada. I hated the characters and by the end was rooting for someone to smack them. Read this if you like chick lit with annoying characters, but otherwise steer clear.

Also, I left this in Japan as English practice for one of my friends. It was written in a level where even an intermediate student of English could easily understand it.

Found the main plot interesting. Pacing is a little slow towards the beginning, but picks up towards the middle. Felt some things could have been improved or delved into more
such as getting more insight into why Abby was specifically targeting Bette, or Philip's sexuality.
Also wish the pacing of Sammy and Bette's relationship was slower, as it felt way too fast-paced. Overall decent read.

do you ever find yourself thinking that a character is an idiot, and that you just want to smack them sometimes? Also wanting to smack the author for being so very VERY blatant with the "I'm hip and cool - let's see how many celebrity names I can drop", even if it is a book about party planning. COME ON!

But still - apart from those two things, it's fairly fluffy and a quick read.

I just think there's a chance that Weisberger and I just don't see eye-to-eye about how to write a book (granted, she's making a living off of it and I work in politics, so that's no blame on her). Therefore, this is another novel by her with far too many points of view and narrators that have no difference in tone whatsoever. The plot, like her others, is purely superficial and you find yourself not really caring who ends up where because it is all so light.

Just a fluff book, written by the same author as The Devil Wears Prada.

It seemed to be missing some depth in certain parts and ended faster then I had expected. I feel like there were aspects of Bette's life that could have been written about in more detail.
-Why she suddenly chose a writing career, how she made the decision, and what she wrote about, in detail.
-What happened between her and Sammy?
I think there's definitely room for a sequel, we'll see.

This book is pretty much the same plot as Devil Wears Prada but in the PR and party planning industry. Some of the characters are ridiculous and it has dated a lot but I did enjoy it in a guilty pleasure way .
