Pretty much predictable with a weird, cut off ending.

It had its moments. It was so cute even if some scenes were as cliche as they went. It's strange that I find the bestfriends' relationship more interesting than the main characters' relationship. Hmm.. anyway, I still don't want to be Rochelle. I don't want to be such a girl sometimes and such a one-of-the-boys-girl for other times.

I guess that my expectations were really high.

I didn´t like Noah not one bit, he´s just the typical bad ass, violence Junkie and don´t get me started with Elle I mean she was so dramatic when things could have been easily solved by talking; Their romance was so toxic (With him telling her how to dress, who to talk to, and I was like "Really man? Wich century is this?) This and more could get talking for hours, but I will just say that this book showed me what I don´t want from a relationship.

I read this because I think the movie is adorable and the book is always better than the movie right? Nope. Not this time. Had I not already known the story because of the movie and had it not been a quick one to read I would not have finished this.

Never thought I'd say that but... the movie was better! Ok, Netflix is selling some kind of pinkwash feminism and male gay trope, at least it tries to show us new progressive cliche. (Lol...) The book was full of old cliche and toxic masculinity. In both, Elle is a manic pixie girl and why WHY does the brothers feel entitled to talk about her, yes HER, sex life!?! I can't stand this anymore! Virginity is a patriarcal concept and the 2 boys are so paternalistic it makes me sick.
Also... there is something vaguely said about their class difference but it should have been more developped!
One star is because it's easy and fast to read at least and I like the fact that there's a girl-guy friendship. (But it was almost secondary and very toxic.)

Um.. Last night I finished a really dark book, so I was hoping to find a short, light read to cleanse my palette after that. That’s why I started reading The Kissing Booth, even though I knew it was targeted towards a younger audience.

I knew this would be a simple book. That’s literally why I started reading it. But wow, the interactions, the characters, and the narrative were so shallow. Not in a conceited kind of way, but in a superficial way.

I am giving it 2 stars instead of 1 even if I did not finish it because I liked the movie, and therefore I like the general concept of the story. I just didn’t like the writing. At all.
