What a great read! There is a lot of story here and the telling of it kept me interested, enjoying every bit of it. There are unusual technologies, beings, and names, but they are all presented in a memorable way so that I never felt confused. I did feel I was in the dark just as the main character did, and that was part of the fun. I loved the two alien species, their interactions among themselves and between species including getting along with humanity. What a wild, wonderful story!
